ITS BEEN AWHILE!!!!!

Sooo..I know i have been M.I.A lately I have been quite busy this semester at school but trust me I didnt forget about you guys. When I tell you my hair has been growing!!!!!! I am so excited at the growth I have recieved. Its been 7 months since I have cut my hair off and I feel like its has grown back to the length it was at when I first cut it. I have been following the Cathy Howse method strickly wash every 3 days deep condition with heat and with added oils. I also start drinking a shake about a month ago that helps with growing hair back thick and long. And when I tell you my hardwork is paying oFF! Now, Its getting a little hot and I am considering a sew-in for a couple of months because I have been really busy lately and I just dont have the time for my hair right now.I will be keeping you posted on that. Right now I have been trying to rollersetting my hair(still havent mastered it yet tho)so I can have some body in my hair without using direct heat. I did relax my hair about a month ago after I said I wasnt but thats for another story. So next time I post which is hopefully by the end of this week I will definetly post progress pics. Love you guys!!!! Stay blessed

Hair Inspirations

So i Realized that I have not posted any pics of what length I would desire my hair to Be. As of right now a long thick shoulder length bob is my goal by July 2011!! I think I Can do it I will post the length below. I have been reading some inspirational blogs about how much hair they retained on their hair care journey and some of these results are beautiful and Unbelievable, but it inspired me as well.Honestly I would be really be happy if my hair was jus thick and healthy all over no matter what the length thats why I cut my hair all off and started over again so it could all be healthy. To me there is nothing better than healthy hair whether short or long. Just to have it swanging and and shining and the ends looking healthy.. and no bald areas is beautiful to me! So this is what im aiming for.... by october that will be a full year for my hair journey

In the long term this what I want my hair to look like.....
Aaliyah so beautiful...

Wiggin IT uP!

So my hair has been growin out of this pixie cut and its goin thru the ugly phase so i decided to start wigging it up! I have a lacefront wigs which i leave a little hair out in the front because i dont like how lacefront fit actually on the front of your hair. I just use some dark and lovely edge tamer for kids to the front of my hair. I actually like it because it looks good and I can still moisturize and seal my hair and take care of it. On a positive note It allows me to avoid using heat and its a protective style I also can stretch my relaxer longer because my hair is protected. On the downside my hair has been drying out and I think its the wig cap!!! I mean my hair is always been soft and moisturized and now it is so dry. The other day I cowashed with herbal ess long term relationship and deep conditioned my hair with keracare humecto under the dryer for 20 mins for some added moisture for my strands. That seemed to help ALOT actually. Ive heard wig caps can suck the moisture right out of your hair so as soon as I go to the BSS im goin to pick up a satin wig cap. I only wear my wig when I go out when I'm at home I take it off moisturize and seal I have also been using jamaican black castor oil on my hair a couple days after my wash days. This has helped thicken my hair up some. But I think I'll roll with the wigs for a couple of months to see how much length I retain. Ill try to post pics on my next update which will be my next wash day..until then.. Take Care and Good Bless!!!

I Think Im Becoming A Slight Product Junkie...

So as we welcome the new year in 2011 there comes more hair goals! Since I started my hair journey in October toward the end of 2010 I feel like 2011 will be my year to see Tremendous GROWTH! Well on the other hand I'm noticing something as I browse the online forums and read magazines about hair care Anything that someone says works im in a rush to run out and grab it. But this is becomin a slight problem because im spending all this money on all these products that I dont have time to EVEN use them all. They"re just adding to my collection of hair products I already have! In the past couple of months I have purchased: Aphogee Damaged Hair Shampoo, Green Tea Reconstructor, Provitamin Leave In,Keratin 2 min Reconstructor,( Yeah I was riding the Aphogee bandwagon lol). Keracare 1st Lather ClaRIFYING Shampoo, Keracare Oil Sheen,Keracare Foam Wrap Lotion, and THE Keracare leave-in. I think Keracare might become my staple because they make my hair so soft and managable. There is no other Wrapping Lotion like keracare's it conditions your hair while making it shiny and bouncy. The only downside to keracare is its very expensive! One of my favorite protein coditions is Ors Replenishing Conditioner you can also purchase them in a pak. Ors strenghtens your hair at the same time leaving it moisturized.I recently bought the Silicon Mix Conditioner and I mix it with my Ors Conditioner just to get some extra shine sometimes. Sometimes I cowash and when I do i use herbal Essesence Long Term Relationships it smells so yummy!!!When I moisturize my hair I use the Hydrathermal naturals Moisturizing Growth Lotion Let me just say this is one of the best water based moisturizing lotions I ever have used.I def will be purchasing a new bottle when I run out. Some oils that I purchased is Jojoba oil, peppermint oil, extra virgin coconut and olive oil, and Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I mix them in my conditioner for extra moisture and they also help to soften new growth. I like to apply castor oil on my scalp a couple times a week because it helps thicken up the hair. I purchased a Babybliss Blowdryer and a IONIC tourmalin flatiron a 5/8 inch and a 1 inch flatiron. Lastly For THe SHampoos: I own Hydrathermal Naturals Moisture Boosting Shampoo love this poo it contains Kelp and other Natural Oils, It infuses your hair with soooo much moisture without stripping your hair of its naturals oils. I also own Dove Intense Moisture this is a shampoo I was given and I must say that it works very well not my fav poo but it works! SOOOOOO Moral To the Story I have spent too much money on hair products I'm not buying anymore until I use up the ones I got! So in 2011 my hair goals are shoulder length hair and I want to def get some thickness as well as length. Right now my hair is growing past my ear length..bout time!!! LOl.. Im def goin to stay away from the shop because as you can see in my previous posts the hairstylist get tooo scissor happy! Happy New Year Everyone And God Bless..I will be posting results of my Next Wash Day...

Relaxer Results

So my relaxer came out perfect..I mean I dont think the pictures does it justice..really. My stylist used design essentials and I did not burn at all..he also based my scalp really well before he applied the relaxer even though i based my hair the night before with coconut oil. I love how he styled it but it he kinda chopped it up so it would stand up. The only bad thing was he cut my hair which pissed me off after I told him I didnt want my hair cut but i guess my ends are even now..so im pleased overrall. But i definetly learned my lesson no more trips to the shop unless i want to see my hair stay short. So without further due..here goes my progress..my hair has thicken up alot

Relaxer Prep!

So tommorrow i will be going to the shop for the first time in 2 months to get a relaxer because i just dont trust myself! I will insist that my stylist does not cut my hair only the edges MAYBE my sideburns cause they have gotten a little thick to get it in some sort of style. I will also be making sure that he only applies the relaxer to my new growth since i have been reading up on relaxer and learned you dont need to relaxed already relaxed hair..which i have been doing basically my whole life or when i couldnt go to the shop. So to prepare for my relaxer tommorow i will oil my scalp down with coconut oil and i will place oil on my hair and not my new growth because i wont the relaxer to straighten the new growth. I'm placing oil on my hair just because if relaxer accidently touches my hair it is well coated with oil making it harder to process. Well wish me luck guys i will definetly post pics of my hair tommorrow! I also just ordered some jamaican black castor oil..excited to try it out i've heard good things about it, when i start using it I will let you know what I think about it. Untill Next Time...

So i have been thinking.....

When I started my hair care journey I cut all my hair off because I wanted to be able to start all over brand new and I wanted a fresh start. And I realized something there's not really much out there online for short hair care. There's way more sites out there to take care of weaves then short hair! So I said you know I guess ill just have to go through trial and error to figure what works. I'm talking about there's a lack of short hair tutorials on youtube there's not many if any short hair discussion boards. To get long hair you had to start from somewhere right???? I dont know just a thought..everytime i tell someone i want to grow out my hair they tell me to use wigs to protect my hair or braids and I'm thinking arent these the same things that got me in this predicament to began with. So I realized im going to need A nice tall glass of PATIENCE to get where im going i still have another six months to really gain some length.
